The place was calm, parking was easy, and the restaurants were accessible. The pillows were an issue 😃, but that’s a common problem in many hotels. The TV was also overly complicated to use, and everything was in German.

Breakfast was fine, parking was fine. No air conditioning and the rooms were small.

The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was pricey. They had a key box, so I could arrive at 10 pm and get into my room without hassle. That’s a relief when you’re on an afternoon flight and the front desk is closed. I used the hotel as a base for a multi‑day hike, and there was a huge co‑op nearby for supplies.

The house is exceptionally beautiful, with so much fine woodwork, very well maintained, and spotless. The breakfast was wonderful and the hostess from Sri Lanka was very friendly and helpful. The self‑check‑in worked great, and the pre‑arrival information was helpful too. We just couldn’t figure out the TV – we couldn’t find “normal” channels like SRF, ARD, or ORF, and after a lot of clicking we ended up watching Tagesschau on our phones! The TV instructions on how to access those “normal” channels were lacking – we seniors don’t have much experience with Netflix & Co.!
