The location was good, single rooms were cheap, but the walls were thin and the room door was noisy, with the door slamming into the neighboring room quite often.

The door didn’t close properly; even after locking it, it still didn’t seal.

The welcome was a nightmare: a woman who was physically aggressive and clueless about English made me wait outside for 30 minutes with a 10 kg bag on my back. She spent 15 minutes taking a photo of my passport, using random objects to hold it open, and when I tried to help by holding it myself, she slapped my hand away. Another 15 minutes were wasted at the gate while she pinched my finger to register my fingerprint, all while I still carried that 10 kg pack—ridiculous. She then shoved me into my room after I offered to translate for her, slammed the door, and the hostel itself is awful: it’s dirty and the mattress is only 5 cm thick. If you want a nervous breakdown after a long day or enjoy being hit, go for it; otherwise, stay away. I can’t see how they have a 9/10 rating.

The room was clean and suitable for travelers with low expectations or those needing a single night’s stay; the bathroom was also fairly clean. The room’s soundproofing was poor, but everyone here seemed mindful of not making too much noise.

The staff were helpful and friendly. I did get bitten by a few tiny ants during sleep, but it wasn’t serious.
