Hotel Pousada Recanto da Madá

We stayed with my husband, our 15‑year‑old son, 8‑year‑old daughter, and baby, and the place felt very family‑friendly; we even made friends with other guests. Breakfast was good, service was fine, and the staff were ready to help with travel needs. The pool was a hit for the kids and the baby, who could use it freely. The room had air conditioning, a good shower, a working fan, and a TV, plus free parking right next to the hotel. We should have booked a larger room because the bathroom was too small to give the baby a tub bath, and we’d have liked four beds instead of three for more comfort. Also, there was no drain on the other side of the shower box, but that’s the builder’s fault, not the hotel’s. Another downside was that they didn’t serve lunch or dinner; they should at least offer portions at night since most guests are still in the hotel then. It would be nice to have meat portions with fries for that time.

Honestly, it didn’t live up to my expectations; the price felt high and I didn’t see added value. The room was tiny, the bathroom was awful without a shower box, and the sink had no place to put our items. The toilet paper was terrible. The room had a glass door and a towel to cover it, but no curtain at all. Breakfast was weak, with few choices, and we lacked basic items like napkins and plates.

The coffee was wonderful, the ladies were very polite and helpful, and the cleaning was excellent. The accommodation, however, was too small for five people; there was no space for luggage, and if one person stood, the other four had to lie on the beds. The room simply couldn’t fit five people.
