The spot is super handy – right across from the airport and the dining room is open 24 hours, which was great. The rooms themselves were tidy and looked nice, but I felt the price was a bit steep for what you get. I also missed having a toaster or microwave in the room, and the bed was surprisingly stiff.

Walking in, we were hit with a massive mining camp vibe – thousands of workers, a sea of utes, and us as the only civilians. The room pictured online turned out to be a cramped “dog box” with just one towel, and we ended up eating in a huge mess hall full of men and a few women who stared at us like we were aliens. It would have helped if the listing made it clear this was a work‑crew hub rather than a typical motel.
