The accommodation is pretty, medium‑sized with a pool; the rooms and bathrooms are in good order and you can eat on site. It’s a bit outside the center but on a major road where you can easily take a motorbike. After cleaning the room, our open luggage on the floor was suddenly closed in the closet with all items loose inside, which was a bit shocking! When ordering the menu, ask first what is and isn’t included.

We spent one night at Akuka Lodge and found the room clean, quiet, and comfortable thanks to a well‑working A/C and cozy beds; breakfast was decent. Parking was ample, safe, and private, and a friendly staff member offered to wash our car for a very fair price. The room, especially the bathroom, could have been larger to hold more stuff, and we couldn’t use the bathroom light because it flickered on and off; we didn’t notify staff due to the short stay, so no points were deducted for that.

The atmosphere, friendly staff, and swimming pool were great.

The staff were friendly and rooms clean; breakfast was good. We stayed over the weekend when it was very busy with children’s parties on Saturday and a church service and baptisms in the pool on Sunday. There was no alcohol and the location was quite remote.

The room is comfortable, with a balcony, a cozy bed and a shower that has hot water. It’s close to the Zomba Nature Reserve, a great spot for hiking. There are two pools, a large one and a kids’ pool, where you can cool off after a nature walk. The restaurants in Zomba are a bit far from the hotel.
