The location was good, but the place wasn’t clean: there were intimate‑body hairs everywhere in the shower, no clear cleaning had taken place, and they didn’t even rinse it off. The fridge was dirty. The listing claimed there was heating and a fan, yet there was no fan or air conditioning, so I couldn’t sleep past midnight because of the heat. We called the phone on the second day and they said they could do nothing. Don’t advertise a fan if there isn’t one.

The owner Conchi’s wonderful hospitality, the love she puts into running the place, the careful décor, photos, paintings, the spacious room and bathroom, the comfortable mattress, and the breakfast were all perfect. It’s a beautiful project that re‑values San Juan de la Cruz, but it needs more support from the government and the church; otherwise it risks being shut down by official neglect that doesn’t back local tourism.

Staying at the hotel was very pleasant, largely thanks to the host Conchi and her son Marcos who provide practical information to enjoy the area and offer all kinds of conveniences to feel comfortable. The rooms and facilities are excellent, the place is beautiful, the town and surroundings are lovely, and it’s a shame it’s so little promoted; perhaps they’ll have to close.
