The location is great but hard to find, hot water and friendly staff are there, and reception is always staffed. It’s a typical Indian budget hotel—just accept that it’s functional, not pleasant, and stay only if you’re okay with that. It’s down a dark alley, which may bother solo travelers, and it’s unclear whether the room had been cleaned since the previous guests; the bedroom photo on the site, while likely genuine, doesn’t reflect how the room actually looks.

I visited Arora Guest House in Amritsar and had an amazing stay thanks to their staff; the owner was polite, and the team provided great facilities without any issues.

The host, named Aman just like my uncle, was very responsive and called my contacts about my question, telling me where and how to go. However, the place was very dirty and dusty; I understand that this is a common issue in much of India, but the hostel needs to start cleaning up its own space. It has potential, but the unwillingness to keep it tidy and cozy will ruin it, and it doesn’t cost much—just water, detergent, and cloths.

“I recommend this hotel to everyone”

I had a very good experience; I was right near the temple and the place felt very safe for a woman traveling alone. Aman, the owner, was very friendly and helped me book a bus and with everything else I needed, so I could stay until my bus left in the afternoon.
