Porta da Mar, a non‑smoking boutique hotel in Venice, sits steps from the Naval Museum and 350 m from the Arsenale. Elegant rooms feature air conditioning, flat‑screen TVs, private baths, fine wooden floors, and Murano‑glass chandeliers. A 2‑minute walk reaches the Arsenale Vaporetto stop, while the Ducal Palace and St. Mark’s Square lie just 1 km away.

The room was clean and had been recently renovated; it was quite small and the bathroom was okay. There was no reception or other staff, only a friendly cleaning lady who was helpful. The key system ran on a smartphone and worked well. Some might say the location is a bit remote in Arsenale, but it was perfect for the Biennale, and I could choose that area again next time because walking distances are still very short.

The location was excellent, the staff were wonderful, communication was great, and they were very responsive to any requests. The cleaning staff were also great.
