The youth hostel was on the Elbe, and you could actually see the river. The mattresses were brutally hard, like in a rehab clinic, and the breakfast table felt like a bad experience. When we looked out the windows, they were all grimy and covered in flies, so we didn't feel comfortable. We had high expectations for a night at the hostel, but we were very disappointed.

Breakfast was tasty, with a wide selection and a nicely arranged buffet that was refilled regularly. The riverside location was lovely, and you could register at the reception for a warm dinner (buffet, plenty of salad). It cost a bit over 10 EUR on 08/26 and tasted good. The value for money was completely off, and sometimes the staff seemed overwhelmed even by mature adults. They initially dismissed clear signs of mold in the shower (despite photos), but after inspection they took it seriously and offered a room change.

Nice youth hostel, straightforward check‑in, very friendly staff, a beautiful, quiet, bright room with a view of the Elbe, clean, superb breakfast buffet, there was even a way to have a warm dinner, good location in the historic old town, a walk into nature directly from the house…everything was perfect.
