We were blown away by every detail – the venue is utterly charming, the vibe feels deeply immersive, and the whole Mentone area is impeccably curated for guests. The vineyard and restaurants are fabulous, making it a real bargain. The only hiccup was the strict check‑in rule (till 6 pm), which forced us to tweak our plans a little but didn’t ruin anything.

The on‑site gourmet restaurant offered surprisingly reasonable prices. Every staff member was extremely available, spontaneously friendly, occasionally humorous, and adept at meeting guests’ requests, all with a genuine, non‑commercial smile and good spirits. The rustic, wooded setting was vast and at our disposal. The lack of television and newspapers guaranteed a true disconnect. The downside was the slippery bathtub that was imposed on older guests, and the bathroom lacked storage space.

The château exudes charm and has huge potential. The place is very quiet, perfect for a restful and rejuvenating stay. The young ladies at reception were very kind and welcoming, showing a lot of warmth and attention. However, the breakfast at 21 € was disappointing, offering an extremely limited selection that was even below a standard continental breakfast. The rooms feel a bit dated and would benefit from renovation, though they still retain a lot of charm. The most disheartening issue was the behavior of the floor‑staff member Eden, who spoke to us in an extremely aggressive and rude tone, raised her voice, and questioned us about late‑check‑out payments that had already been settled at reception. Moreover, payment matters clearly do not fall under the responsibility of the floor staff. Such conduct towards guests is totally unacceptable. We strongly urge management to pay close attention to this employee and her communication style. This incident unfortunately marred our overall impression of the stay, especially since the rest of the staff was very friendly. A clear need for interpersonal and client‑relations training for this employee is evident.

Our stay at Chateau Mentone was simply amazing. The staff were friendly, the château and room were beautiful, the beds were comfortable, the restaurant food was delicious, and the wines were also very good (the tasting is a must). The tranquility of the surroundings was perfect. We loved it so much that we returned for the last days of our holiday.

The vineyard location, wine tasting, pool, and proximity to a cycle path were outstanding, and the restaurant was excellent. The plumbing and electrics were problematic.
