The hotel sits on a hilltop with great views that feel refreshing, and the onsen offers many temperature options; the open-air bath is designed so that depth changes the temperature, letting even those who don’t like hot water enjoy it. There are two saunas—mist and a slightly hotter standard one—and a cold water bath; I didn’t have time to use them, but there’s also a rock bath. I stayed during Silver Week and found the large indoor bath relaxing, and the top floor has another big bath for corporate guests, though it lacks an open-air area and sauna. Compared to typical business hotels, the rooms are spacious and the toilet is separate from the shower, which I liked. It felt a bit dim, but opening the curtains in the morning brightens it up, so it’s not a problem. I booked a room-only stay, so the restaurant details are unknown. Public transport is a major hassle: you must call a free reservation a hour before the bus if you’re heading from the city; otherwise you can board without a reservation. I understand the staff shortage makes it hard to reach the mountain, but it’s unclear if the hotel runs the bus. The front desk explained the need for a reservation and offered to call for me the first time, but the next evening when I asked about the morning bus, they said “please book yourself.” That was fine, but the bus company’s hours were over by then, so I had to call the next morning and forgot, ending up walking to the station. If someone were stationed in the lobby, they could have called for me the next day. The place seems aimed at those who rent cars or families who want to relax, so the lack of late buses forces nightlife crowds to take taxis (about 3,000–4,000 yen from Obihiro Station). The elevator is slow and there are only two, so wait times are long for a hotel that was almost full during Silver Week. I wish there were a chair to lie down after the sauna (there are regular chairs). Also, the slippers I brought from the guest bath disappeared; there were tags but I didn’t use them, and the number of slippers was insufficient for the guests, which surprised me. I went back to my room barefoot, then started marking or storing them in lockers. The incident in the guest bath left me feeling uneasy.

The view is amazing and I even got to do some sunbathing, but there were bugs, so I couldn’t open the window.

The hot spring was absolutely fantastic.

The large public bath on the first floor is fantastic—spacious, split into indoor and outdoor sections, and never feels crowded even when busy. The guestroom was tidy, clean and comfortable, though the bathroom fixtures were a bit small, albeit sufficient.
