“Onze noites: nossa melhor estadia em muitos anos.”
My wife, daughter, and I stayed for eleven nights at Pousada Mestizo from 25 September to 6 October 2026, and the experience was flawless. The building is beautiful, with modern architecture that ensures privacy, and the structure itself is a fascinating experience. Everything is very quiet. The room is spacious, comfortably fitting three people in two separate areas. The bathroom is excellent, featuring a superb shower. A critical detail: the tap and shower provide fresh water, not brackish like in other local inns. The bed is wide (even too wide) with a quality mattress. Our room opened onto an inner garden with a fully private Jacuzzi. Daily cleaning is rigorous, with linens and towels changed. Two aspects deserve special mention. First, the meals: Pousada Mestizo offers one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in decades of travel—fresh fruit, bread, tapioca, cakes, juices, coffee, all top quality and served efficiently and kindly. We also dined there three times, each dinner crafted with care. Second, the staff’s attentiveness and availability, including owner Rodrigo, who repeatedly gave us travel tips and activity suggestions. I’ve long traveled with my family twice a year to various parts of Brazil and abroad, and those who review my other stays will see I’m harsh on disappointing accommodations. In Pousada Mestizo, I can say it’s been years since we were so well accommodated. I highly recommend it. The only improvement would be more space or shelves in the wardrobe for longer stays. The place is very safe, but could use internal locks on room doors and safes for valuables and documents.
