The spot is spot‑on – right where you want to be – but the room left a lot to be desired. It wasn’t clean, the tap water had a yellow tint and it looks like the water tanks aren’t cleaned often. Even the desk and wardrobe drawers are loose, as if they were never fastened.

The surroundings are pleasant and the staff are friendly, yet the place suffers from constant electricity interruptions that make it hard to relax.

I liked the quiet atmosphere and the warm welcome from the team, but the restaurant took forever to bring out our meals.

The hotel sits in a convenient part of Matadi, which is a plus, but overall it feels just average for what you’d expect in a city like Matadi.
