The location and food were excellent, yet getting service to the location was difficult.

The view from the rooms was spectacular, especially the sunrise; staff tried hard to entertain guests with local sightseeing, though it was pricey; the path from Poombarai was horrible, with no public transport—one must hire a 4‑wheel drive because of potholes, hoping the roads improve soon; the room lighting was dim and worsened by power fluctuations; the food was average, no nearby restaurants, and breakfast seating was uncomfortable because the tables were too low.

The location was amazing and worth the travel, the sunrise from the community area was stunning, and the kitchen served some of the best food I’ve had at a Zostel so far; the road to the Zostel is awful, but that’s not the property’s fault and it’s still worth the trip.

The location was exceptional and the place was clean, but the food was the worst I’ve ever had and overpriced; even after telling the staff how I wanted it prepared, they refused to change it, saying “this is how they make it” and refusing to cancel; we had no choice but to eat there, and to reach local shops and restaurants we had to drive almost 3 km off‑road to Poombarai for authentic tasty local food and other items.
