“Good, very clean, but not really worth the price”
Staying at Masomz Lodge was genuinely delightful. The room was impeccably clean, equipped with good air conditioning, a fan, and a TV, and fresh towels were supplied. A toothbrush and toothpaste were also provided, which was a thoughtful addition. A mini‑fridge at reception let me grab a cold drink whenever I wanted. The two girls at reception were incredibly friendly and sweet, and the host I communicated with via the booking platform was eloquent, intelligent, and kind, greeting me warmly upon arrival. However, there were a few negatives. Breakfast was underwhelming—potatoes, spinach, one sausage, one egg, and tea—so it didn’t match the typical European breakfast I’m used to. Considering the location and the amount I paid, I didn’t feel the price was justified. The biggest concern was safety; after dining out, I returned to find the compound bustling with people who had clearly been drinking. One man followed me into the building, spoke to me in Swahili, and asked to come with me to my room. As a solo female traveler, that was somewhat frightening, so I wouldn’t recommend this place to lone women, and I believe the price should be reduced.
