“Incompetenti: lasciata senza alloggio la sera del mio arrivo”
I had booked one of their apartments from Italy well in advance, receiving a regular confirmation of the reservation. On the day of arrival I also communicated via message my expected arrival time, around 16:00, and received confirmation. Once I arrived on site, I was initially asked to wait “just two minutes.” After over half an hour of waiting and numerous requests for explanations, I was told that a man had taken the apartment key and therefore they could not let me in. The situation dragged on for hours, with continuous justifications and contradictory information. Only after about three hours of waiting, when it was already 21:00, was I finally told the truth: they had sold my apartment to another person and were overbooked. At that point I was left without any accommodation, in a foreign city, during a period when practically all facilities were full because of the national holiday on 28 May and several international conferences. No serious and immediately available alternative was offered. Only after my protests was I suggested a makeshift lodging on the sixth floor of a building without an elevator, where I could only access it at 02:00. In addition to the total lack of professionalism, what struck me negatively was the staff’s attitude: while I was desperately looking for a solution, they kept joking among themselves with phrases like “I have good news and bad news” or “taking the stairs will do you good.” A deeply disrespectful behavior toward a client left without accommodation. I never received adequate apologies, never received concrete assistance. I was simply abandoned to myself. I strongly advise avoiding this property.
