The staff were incredibly courteous; when I asked for a pickup, they gladly handled it, which is a big help for solo travelers. They also let me rent a bike, cleaned my room daily, and the towels were fluffy, fresh, and smelled great. They even lent me snorkeling gear, and when I mentioned I had my own, they offered me a fin. The place has a cat that’s about 5‑6 months old, still a baby, and it’s so cute—I could cuddle it, pet its paws or belly, and it just loved it. I even wanted to take it home! The cat’s shape is like a mackerel, very subtle and adorable. It was a joy to experience the cat while staying. Nearby, there’s a Korean‑facing restaurant that’s right next to the property; after snorkeling, I’d drop my bags, grab a smoothie bowl there, and then shower back at the hotel—pure bliss. The restaurant’s staff, who also work at Gukun, served me a drink there. This place made for unforgettable memories in Gili.
The prayer noise was pretty loud, which could be tough for sensitive folks, but the hotel provided new earplugs that made sleeping easier. I actually found the chickens in the nearby yard louder than the prayers—when one clucked, the neighbor’s clucked along, making it even more disruptive. Still, after a vigorous morning swim and an evening at the beach club drinking and partying, I could sleep well when I got back to the room.
