I found a good value stay in Taipei that didn’t cost two thousand, but the room’s soundproofing was awful—talking and laughter from the neighboring room were crystal clear and really disturbed my sleep.

Just enough to sleep. The moment I stepped into the room, a thick smoke and mildew odor hit me, and there were hair on the bed and a blood stain on the blanket. The hair dryer had a cracked, melted shell, and the smoke was so heavy that the air conditioner couldn't clear it; the vents were clogged with thick dust.

The location was fine, but there was no lift so I had to haul all my luggage upstairs. The place was very dirty and moldy, especially in the AC, feeling like a prison cell. Three windows in one room didn’t open properly in the end.
