“Frustrierender Aufenthalt. Überteuerte Preise. Abgewohntes Zimmer.”
The service staff worked as well as they could. What was advertised was not delivered. The hotel claimed to be family‑run, yet there were a few flyers with phone numbers at the locked reception. The statements on the website did not match reality. The distance to the recommended parking lot was clearly farther than stated, which is bad for guests with a lot of luggage or mobility issues. The breakfast room was undersized; guests had to wait for a table to free up, the buffet was sometimes empty, and there were delays before rolls and side dishes were restocked. The coffee machine was undersized for the customer flow. The scrambled eggs were inedible. The staff fought hard to satisfy customers. The rooms were in a worn condition. Earplugs were provided because of noise pollution. No staff were on site. The front door stayed open all the time—security breach! The price for this is clearly too high. A complaint letter to management went unanswered: "Dear Sir or Madam, I am currently a guest at your hotel in Mannheim. There is definitely a reason for complaint. You advertise a family‑run hotel. On site it is actually a remotely run house. Unpersonal, anonymous. You must call a phone number for entry. The first number given does not work, the second goes to voicemail and only after a while is returned. You are told to remember PIN codes without any writing material. Excuse me, what do you think of that? The rooms are in a worn, heavily used condition. The lighting is presumably deliberately undersized so you cannot see well… A balcony window is broken. The furniture in general is in an unsightly condition. I spend about four months a year on business trips and can afford to compare, what you run here is, in the way it is advertised, unfair and definitely overpriced."
