“Lovely hotel, but farmyard birds resulted in very poor sleep.”
Beautiful hotel with lovely facilities, friendly staff and lovely views. Delicious food and good value for money. We got very bad sleep. We were in the rooms under the thatched roof which had no sound insulation. We were woken up both mornings of our stay at 5am by incessant calling from a goose perched on the roof for the next 3+ hours. Even with ear plugs and buried heads under pillows, we couldn't sleep. Sadly, this meant we were completely shattered by the end of the trip and while the hotel was very nice, ultimately if you can't sleep it's quite an uncomfortable stay. We did raise this with the staff, but they said they were unable to do anything about it. Others in our group were also woken up by the cockerels
