The setting was tranquil, beautiful, and contemplative. Alfredo and his family were super polite and helpful. The food was excellent. We went in May and it was a bit chilly—around zero degrees. Another point is that the cabin feels isolated, completely dependent on the staff. It’s a place to rest and be quiet. Boat trips last only 1 or 2 hours at most. I stayed two nights and one day, which I think is enough time.

We appreciated that the house was set apart from the main traffic, offering calm views of the lake and reeds. Mery and Alfredo were extremely helpful. Every meal was supplied and plenty, though after four days it felt a bit repetitive, but that doesn't detract from the food quality. A nice addition would have been an indoor seating spot for times when we weren’t on the deck or in bed, but that’s understandable.

The Alfredo&Mery place is a bit far from many other accommodations, which we really liked. Staying on a reed island is an extraordinary experience, and watching how locals live there is fascinating. The hosts are super friendly and do everything to make guests feel comfortable. The accommodation is very simple, adapted to the surroundings, yet cozy. Highly recommended!
