The location is great, but the place feels a bit rundown with a spotty carpet and broken drawers.

The spot near the Reeperbahn was perfect, tucked behind the Davidwache on a side street, yet the room was awful—accessible only via a very narrow staircase down, no daylight, cracked walls needing renovation, an old shelf that had apparently fallen and was just left on the floor, broken fixtures in the bathroom, a strong drain smell, and terrible beds and mattresses.

I got a nice bathroom and the mattresses were soft, plus a desk and blackout curtains. However, we had to walk through a public hallway to reach our own toilet, the trash bin in the bathroom hadn’t been emptied from previous guests, we moved the beds together because we were a couple, but under them lay old socks from earlier guests, used snus packs and large empty containers, and several surfaces weren’t properly dried so there was a lot of dust—spiderwebs on my clothes before we left. Even though we were two, we were only given one key, and the room’s trash bin wasn’t emptied.

“Sehr zentral, sauber und gemütlich!”

The location was perfect for us—200 m to the Operettenhaus and not far from the Landungsbrücken. The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly, and they even let us in early. Everything was fine; the only issue was the steep stairs, which would have been a problem for my mother, but I had requested a ground‑floor room when booking and received one. 👍
