The guesthouse gives everything you need: a relaxed surfer feel, friendly staff, ocean views from every room, and close proximity to the beaches. It’s a short walk from the station (especially with luggage), but it’s totally worth it. I loved the atmosphere and it blends right into charming Shimoda!

We loved this Guesthouse. The owners were very friendly, there was a great common area to relax, and our room had stunning beach views. Parking was easy. It’s only a 5‑minute walk to Shimoda, where we had one of our favorite meals in Japan so far. I’d definitely recommend it.

I had a fantastic time at this place and would definitely return and recommend it! The location is great if you want to be near any of the many beaches—whether you’re swimming, sunbathing, surfing, or snorkeling, the right beach is close by. The rooms are really simple and very noisy, which is the only downside. Bicycles, snorkeling gear, surfboards, and wetsuits are available, many for free or at a low fee; the common room is nicely set up and invites conversation with other guests. The staff is exceptionally friendly. Perfect for an active beach holiday. I would have liked some storage space in the rooms, and they are a bit noisy.
