The property was clean and modern, with plenty of charging ports. The bed was comfortable and came with more than just two sheets and a quilt. I appreciated the wood floor, unlike most hotels that use carpets whose cleanliness is uncertain. The restaurant food was delicious, front‑desk service was excellent, and the valet was quick and easy. I’m really pleased with our choice to stay here as a stop‑over.

The location was convenient before heading to Death Valley, and the room was clean.

I stayed at the Padre and it felt like a fresh, modern hotel with staff who went above and beyond; the valet parking added a nice touch. We’re regulars in Bakersfield and most other places we’ve tried have been underwhelming or even awful, so the Padre’s higher price was a worthwhile step up. The only downside was the bathroom: the vanity light was weak and poorly positioned, the makeup mirrors were small and dim, the shower was smaller than the photos suggested but not too cramped, the tiles looked great, the bench was a good idea but the toiletries were behind you when you sat, there was no shelf for your own items, and a handheld shower head would have made sense for a hotel that spent so much on renovations.

Loved the decor, theme and bar. 18.00 Valet parking - no breakfast
