“Aangename casal om Douro vallei te verkennen.”
When we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly and handed us a complimentary drink; they carried our luggage straight to the room. The room itself was decent, featuring a small balcony and a spacious bathroom with a well‑working air‑conditioning unit. The hotel is just a short walk from Regua, where you can dine in a variety of restaurants at night. Breakfast was very well arranged with fresh produce, and each morning the buffet table looked different. The view from the pool was lovely, and the pool area and surroundings were impeccably maintained. Parking was separate and ample. However, the on‑site dining options were on the pricier side for Portuguese standards. Coffee and tea facilities were located in the common hallway rather than in the room. There was disturbing noise in the room, especially at night, coming from a device in the hallway that also sells wine and port. The room lacked a dedicated trash bin, only a tiny one in the bathroom, and had no wardrobe, just a clothes rack. Be aware of the uneven level and the number of steps required to reach the parking and pool.
