The Monticello Motel, located off Interstate 5, offers suites with full kitchens and traditionally decorated rooms with free Wi-Fi. Spacious rooms feature cable TV with HBO, DVD players, microwaves, and refrigerators. Central Portland is 3 miles away, while Rose Garden Arena and Portland Convention Center are 5 minutes' drive. Portland International Airport is 15 miles away.

The kitchen and cabinets had a heavy, musty odor, almost like oil; I had to boil vinegar and orange peels, add essential oil to the sink, and spread baking soda to fight it. The floor and many surfaces were grimy, with rust and mold in the bathroom and on light fixtures. The sheets seemed clean, but everything else made the place feel pretty icky.

The location was great, just a short walk to a couple of bars and a convenience store, and the light rail runs right outside with a station nearby, so I could head straight to PIR for the car show and vintage car racing I was attending. The area is quiet and feels safe.

Location, free parking, close to the highway and walkable distance from Mississippi Ave. Spacious room, beds are comfortable. Booked only 2 nights. Arrived at 8pm and they already charge 1 night in case I didn't show up. The first morning staff knocked 3 times at the door for house keeping. The second morning they called my room 5 min before check out time to ask if I was leaving or not. No ventilation in the bathroom. No double drapes on windows. The price of this motel is the same as much more comfortable hotels downtown
