The room was spacious, the spot was great and the price was good, but the sofa was really shabby and the kitchen utensils were sparse; the staff were not helpful, they only sent automated replies and when I called they wouldn’t assist; I bought two parking permits but only used one and got no refund.

The location was excellent and the hot shower had a great view, but the place wasn’t the cleanest, was dusty, the bedroom had no TV, the lounge was too big, the bedroom was too small, the bed had a dip, the kitchen area looked unappealing, and there was no tea or coffee.

The location was great and the beds were comfortable, but there were no cooking trays and the shower area was in disrepair.

It was our first visit to Whitby and we found the Royal Discovery online at a price we could afford, felt like having our own apartment rather than just a room, enjoyed the sea view and cooking facilities, had hot water in the shower, and it was only a short walk to the centre; I can’t find anything to complain about and will definitely return and book again.

The location was lovely, right on the shoreline and only a few minutes walk from the town centre
