“Un alojamiento estupendo, con un desayuno "suspenso" en una cudad peculiar.”
Sidi, the person in charge, was available and professional, welcoming us outside normal hours because our flight landed in Bari at 9. She accepted our copies of the ID with only the essential data required by Italian hotel check‑in regulations, having removed and pixelated the unnecessary parts. Other accommodations had refused those versions of the ID, even though the law allows it. The house is very pretty, with large rooms, well‑decorated, modern bathrooms, comfortable beds, though some were a bit hard. There are breakfast areas, but they are currently unused. The breakfast was a problem: not only did we have to leave the house to get it, but at one of the places Arco Pinto had a breakfast agreement with, we were treated poorly because they were full of other customers first, and it took a long time to serve us. It seems that until a few months ago the house served an excellent, complete breakfast, but it was suspended due to the illness of the person responsible for that service. The next day we chose to eat on our own, and after expressing our dissatisfaction, they offered us another place to have breakfast. The house is in the old part of Bitonto, in a ZTL, a limited traffic zone. The airport taxi dropped us about 400 metres from the house. We were eight and it cost 81€. During our stay there were patron saint festivals and a good atmosphere, but several people warned us to walk carefully in that area. Pedestrians on scooters and bicycles at full speed day and night, as if it were a new sport of dodging and zigzagging among pedestrians, was dangerous. In some old streets there were groups of men that seemed intimidating, giving us a sense of insecurity. The new part of the city was a pleasant surprise.
