“Would definitely book it again next time we depart from Rome”
Everything was spotless and close to the cruise port—nothing could be better.

The owner/manager was a delight, very helpful and welcoming, but the stairs up to the second‑floor apartment were tough with heavy luggage; we managed but it’s a problem for anyone with back or mobility issues. After dinner at 10 PM, we had to perform a “Houdini” trick to unlock what looked like a jail entrance to get back in, which felt like overpaying for a stay that matched a 4‑star hotel in central Rome. The shared bathroom down the corridor was shocking, especially at midnight when an older man in just underwear walked toward the room that was supposed to be ours.

The location was great for a cruise departure, close to the port and surrounded by shops and restaurants, and the owner/hostess was delightful. The room was spacious, clean, and the property felt very safe. The bathroom for our room was “private,” meaning it was only for our use but not attached; it was a short walk (25 feet) down the hall, which was a minor inconvenience. The building is two levels up from the street with no elevator.

It was clean, and Ana was very friendly and welcoming, but there was no clear notice at booking that there were no lifts, making it impossible if you have heavy luggage. The water pressure was very poor, and adjusting the shower temperature was nearly impossible—one slight tweak would swing it from cold to scalding, which was not what we expected. We thought we’d booked a hotel, but maybe we misread the little information provided.
