The only good thing was the location and the price; the hotel is absolutely to be avoided—cleanliness was terrible, it was extremely uncomfortable, and we slept on cardboard. It was very noisy, with a poorly insulated window, and the photos speak for themselves. The only bright spot was the staff, who were kind.

I stayed just two days at New Alsalam Hotel, and the value for money was excellent. The building feels old‑school, which suits a low‑budget trip perfectly. It sits in a central spot, close to the UNESCO entrance of Luxor Temple; the staff were discreet, helpful, and friendly, and they even arranged a West Bank tour at a very reasonable price. I had a bus to Cairo at 23:30, so they let me stay a second night at a discounted rate, offered tea, and said goodbye warmly. I recommend it! –R!cca+ The walls could use a fresh coat of paint.

The staff were very kind, but everything else was lacking: the bed was hard and the mattresses were very old.

My stay was a bit of a trade-off. On the plus side, the hotel was located in a great spot, which was a definite bonus. However, the room was a bit grimy and uncomfortable, which took away from my overall experience. Despite this, I appreciated the hotel's good location.

I had a bit of a mixed experience at this hotel. The room was very basic and clearly hadn't been well-maintained in years, but the owner and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The price was also a plus. However, the room was dirty and dusty, and the shower was in a pretty rough state - it was clear that it needed a good clean.
