“Een mooi oud landhuis met een bijzondere sfeer, ultieme gastvrijheid in een prachtige omgeving.”
Staying here is hard to put into words. It’s not a luxury place where everything is perfectly styled and finished to the last detail. On the contrary, the house is full of unique items, so you always find something new. And yes, with such a large beautiful house, you’ll sometimes encounter dust, and yes, it’s a gorgeous old manor, so not all maintenance can be done at once. But that’s exactly why this place has a very distinct and special charm and a fantastic atmosphere. Here you truly experience the ultimate French countryside with the city of Blois within reach. The absolute star of our stay was undoubtedly the host, a former lawyer whom we affectionately renamed Madame Avocate. Her warmth, friendliness, and genuine hospitality made our stay unforgettable. Every afternoon she brought drinks to the pool and did everything she could to make us feel at ease. We also had a simple but delicious dinner in the shaded garden. The breakfast wasn’t very extensive (bagels with various kinds of homemade jam), but nothing was too much for her. She made special scrambled eggs for us and even surprised us one morning with delicious French toast. Our rooms were spacious and furnished with beautiful, classic furniture. Our bed was a bit off‑center, so we’d bump into each other every night. From the rooms we looked out onto the very spacious and tranquil garden with large old trees. And the surroundings are beautiful, with lovely walks along the Loire. It’s recommended to do that early in the morning. This isn’t a place for those looking for sleek design and five‑star luxury. But if you love calm, atmosphere, character, and especially genuine hospitality, you’ll have a special time here.
