Taksim Avenue proved to be a solid pick in Istanbul—close to Taksim itself and also near Cihangir and Cukurcuma, both vibrant neighborhoods with great cafés, bars, and antique shops. My room was nice, though a touch small, but that didn’t matter since I was traveling solo. The furnishings and bathroom were new, adding to the pleasant experience. The staff were friendly, helped me book a last‑minute reservation, and all spoke Russian in addition to Turkish and English.
