The location was good and the room was large and very clean; the evening food was nice, especially the lamb’s liver on the menu, and the breakfast was well cooked to order.

The history, location and breakfast options were great, and the staff were very friendly, though parking was somewhat limited and we had to look for a spot nearby and move our car once a space opened up.

We stayed in a wonderful character room with a huge four‑poster bed and a bay window; the staff were fantastic, and because we arrived early they rushed the room so we could go straight in, which was incredibly helpful. The room was a bit tired, but the character made up for it.

The location was excellent, the bed was huge and comfortable, and breakfast was great. We stayed in the oddly named Gazebo, a nice big room with views over the Avon, and there was plenty of hot water for showers. Despite the building’s size, sounds and voices still travelled from other rooms.
