The spot was great, smack in the city centre, but the building’s odd layout felt like a throwback to old historic times.

The staff were genuinely fantastic, and the room—free upgrade included—felt more like a hotel than a hostel, all in a superb central spot I’d highly recommend. The window let in a lot of draughts and the blind didn’t close properly because it was missing a hook.

The place sits nicely in Dundee’s centre; my room was roomy, even had tea‑making gear, and the shared kitchen stocked plenty of cookware and cutlery. The staff were friendly and knew their stuff, and the price was solid value.
