The staff were friendly, but the room was the dirtiest I've ever seen. The first room had a strong ammonia/pee smell; we asked for a different one and it was almost as bad. Key cards failed, so the front desk had to unlock the room every time, which felt unsettling. The bathroom lacked a working light, and a lamp’s cord dangled over the sink, making it a tripping hazard. When my kids filled the bath, black moldy gunk poured out of the drain. The carpet was filthy and stained, forcing us to keep our shoes on for the whole stay. After walking barefoot for 5 minutes, my feet were dirty (see pic), and my socks turned black from the floor. It feels like the place is used as a squat and treated like a slum. I would have chosen another hotel, but everything was booked.

“Old property, some sketchy characters. No amenities?”

The building was much older than I expected and had a weird blood‑looking stain on the carpet. I should have booked a place with interior rooms for safety.

“Was grossed out by the lack of cleanliness.”

The hotel was conveniently located, the bed was comfortable, and the shower’s water temperature and pressure were great. From the outside the building looked nice, but the stairs and walkway outside our room could have been cleaned. The worst part was the floor and carpet cleanliness—the dark flooring and carpet, plus poor lighting, made the room feel grimy. I walked back and forth on the carpet to get things, and when I sat down and put on my sandals, my feet were filthy, dark gray/black from the carpet. I scrubbed my feet with soap and water before putting on sandals. I grew up on a farm and’m not afraid of dirt, but hotel carpet that filthy is a different story.
