“Pleasant stay in a good pub/restaurant with some minor quibbles.”
The breakfast was tasty, and the evening dinner with our extended family was also delicious and well presented; the room was comfortable, the parking was easy to use, and the location was convenient for beach walks. Our two‑night stay was enjoyable. However, it didn’t feel great because the service and presentation weren’t consistently excellent. Outdoor tables stayed uncleared and unwashed throughout the afternoon; when we asked to split the bill between two rooms, both halves ended up on one room; a blocked toilet in a room took a couple of hours to fix; bar service was okay but not smart, cheerful, or professional. All of this points to management and training gaps rather than the potential of the often young staff. Management must decide whether they’re satisfied with a place that’s good but not great. If you’re content with “good and not great,” you’ll be satisfied here.
