The staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly, and the location was convenient, though I wouldn’t try to drive the streets if St. Ives is as busy as it is. The toilet sank when I sat on it, there was black mould on the ceiling, the sea view was completely blocked, and the room didn’t look like its picture at all.

The location is good, but the hotel feels worn out and needs a makeover; the carpets are threadbare and some areas need redecorating. Breakfast could have been better if it stayed hot, yet it was only warm at best. The shower cubicle wasn’t cleaned properly, and it took about 10 minutes to get hot water.

We paid a fair price and the staff were genuinely helpful and friendly, and the fact that we were on the ground floor was a big plus. I would have liked a place to grab a bite or a drink, though.

The view over the bay was beautiful. The cleanliness was lacking; for example, a small balcony in front of the window was full of cigarette butts.

The property was dirty and old, looking tired, which I did not like at all. Dirty and old.
