I fell in love with the place—beautiful, wild, natural, teeming with wildlife like monkeys, toucans, and birds, and the pack of dogs is adorable. Ernesto is a great host and his wife is stunning. The breakfasts are delicious, giving you quality time to rest and enjoy nature. I just wish I could stay longer… hahaha

Vocare is the ideal spot for exploring Guanacaste; staying here lets you enjoy a quiet, gorgeous setting and take day trips to plenty of nearby sights instead of moving every day. Ernesto is incredibly pleasant and helpful, speaks fluent English, and gladly helps plan what to see. Renting a 4x4 is best because some roads aren’t paved. Our cabin was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with one room having a double bed and a bunk, and another with a double bed. Staying at Vocare feels like being a guest, not just a tourist in a lodge. Only two cabins, spaced far enough for privacy. If I return to Guanacaste, Vocare is the only place I’d consider. It’s better than other places I stayed in Costa Rica recently, and the cheapest too. If you’re after a lively restaurant/bar scene to mingle with other tourists, Vocare isn’t for you. If you want to be immersed in nature, explore the grounds, spot amazing birds and wildlife, and simply relax, Vocare is the place. I can’t say enough about how wonderful it is to experience true Costa Rica here, not the tourist version. The only thing I’d tweak is the coffee with breakfast—it was too strong for my American taste.

The host is amazing, passionate about his farm and projects, gave a guided tour, and I loved every moment. Highly recommend this unique insight into something very different and decent, with so much wildlife.

From the moment we arrived, the host made us feel completely at home—warm, welcoming, genuinely caring. It didn’t feel like a stay; it felt like being part of something real. The tour was absolutely amazing—so much knowledge, passion, and connection to nature. You can really feel the purpose behind everything they do. And the breakfast… WOW. One of the best we’ve had—fresh, delicious, and made with so much love. This place is not just accommodation—it’s an experience. Peaceful, authentic, unforgettable. Highly recommend to anyone who wants more than just a hotel—this is where you reconnect with nature and yourself.
