Fais was an exceptional host! He was so friendly and really made us feel comfortable. He went out of his way to give us breakfast every day, no matter the time, and that’s why we extended our stay by two nights. The rooms were spacious and clean, and we had a lovely dog and cat that kept us company while relaxing on the patio! The location was perfect—away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to get to the main town. 10/10 for Fais!

The place has huge potential. I really liked the garden, which they take care of very well. The direct access to the beach is the absolute highlight. Fais, one of the employees, and the night guard are extremely friendly and nice people to be around. Unfortunately, the toilet was leaking, which made the bathroom dirty. The electricity shut down, which of course is not their fault, but no generator was provided. The breakfast is not enough and also does not taste very good. Also, it changes in size every day.

If you’re looking for more peace than the city offers, it’s a decent spot, but there’s no local service, so you always have to go to Arugam Bay for even the smallest need. The bungalow we stayed in for two days had absolutely no Wi‑Fi, the staff’s attention during check‑in was poor and their welcome was rough, and we had to ask repeatedly for basic supplies like toilet paper and soap, which should have been included. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, ruining privacy, and the breakfast was very basic. The room lacked any furniture besides the bed, the staff’s English was low, and the manager was absent, so we couldn’t get any in‑person clarification about the problems. Overall, a regrettably negative experience.
