We had a very pleasant stay. Friendly, historically beautiful location and excellent breakfast. The room was spacious and our bed was very comfortable. Our Labrador was also taken care of superbly. The bathroom really needed an upgrade.

We booked two nights but left after the first because the experience was terribly disappointing. On arrival a strong, acrid smell filled the lobby where four tires were stored. In our room we found two hornets, damp spots on the walls, peeling paint in the bathroom, and worn toiletries—towels frayed and a robe in bad shape. The next morning at 8h20 we got a text saying breakfast would be served between 8h30 and 9h30, which felt oddly late. We decided to depart after that night and immediately messaged the host explaining everything in detail. No reply came, so I sent another follow‑up the next day. To date we still haven’t received any response or a refund for the second night we never stayed. That lack of communication is the biggest let‑down: despite all the material problems, we’d at least expect a reply and some acknowledgment of our experience. We travel often and rarely leave negative reviews, but the conditions of this stay and the complete silence from the hotel warrant a warning.

The authenticity and the care put into the “personality” of the rooms, the cleanliness, the reception, the owner’s positive energy, and the breakfast were all excellent. The only issue was that our sheets, although very clean, had a damp smell.

If you’re after an extraordinary night’s stay, this is the place. The house is almost 300 years old now. The rooms are super sweetly arranged. You have to embrace the “old” house, but you won’t regret it. The owner was very friendly and we felt very comfortable. In the morning, scrambled eggs were freshly prepared for us, homemade jam, and the baguette was delicious. The only problem for older people could be the high bathtubs, making showering difficult.
