Walking to PBR was easy and the staff were friendly; the staff were nice too. The price felt a bit steep because the hotel is two blocks from the main attractions and there’s no vending machine, so drinks cost about $4 and a honey bun is $6, whereas a vending machine would have them for around $2.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but it was very small. I paid for a parking spot and the front desk said it was strictly valet, which was fine, but the valet driver was rude and annoyed when I asked him to park quietly, even though he told me I could park myself.

The hotel sits near the convention center and is close to restaurants and 4th Street. I had a hiccup with my credit card at check‑in, which was my fault, not theirs; after sorting it out the staff let me use the VIP Lounge Room for the rest of my stay, which I appreciated.

The property itself was fine and the room, though small, did what it needed to. I despised the 100% valet rule; the parking lot is just behind the building and I’d rather drive myself. The valet staff seemed confused whenever we asked for our cars back, so you might have to circle the block a few times before finding them. It’s on the corner, but you can’t tell it’s a hotel during the day.
