The location is beautiful, right next to a dune with a huge tree where breakfast is served. The owner, Shambhoo, makes the whole stay special with genuine, heartfelt experiences. A camel trek in the desert with a dinner he cooked under the stars is one of the most memorable moments of my stay in India.

The staff were incredibly courteous, but the domestic antelope that Sambu keeps in the property is a wild animal with two horns; it tries to wrap itself around you as soon as you leave the room, so you have to be careful—if it gets inside you, it’s not pleasant. The nearest hospital is in Jaisalmer.

I had a unique experience in the Khuri desert. The tents were clean, and the owner and staff were very attentive to the guests’ needs. The desert trek with a dinner under the stars was very enjoyable once we reached the dune area.

The staff were very friendly and I truly appreciate them. I stayed at a hotel in Jaisalmer the night before visiting the desert camp, and after checkout I was unsure what to do with my large luggage. The staff introduced me to a partner hotel where I could leave my bags while exploring Jaisalmer, and after returning I could rest in a room—this was really helpful. Because the desert camp was visited during the off‑season, I was the only guest, which made the time very quiet and calm. I enjoyed camel rides and stargazing, exactly the experiences I expected from the desert camp, and I am very satisfied. Also, stopping in a village on the way to the desert camp let me feel how people in the area live, which was nice. The only minor issue at the desert camp was that the Wi‑Fi was weak, which was a bit bothersome.
