I recommend this place if you’re not looking for comfort but for a calm, grandmother‑style atmosphere; the location is beautiful, the people are wonderful, and the food is excellent.

The accommodation is very simple but overall fine; the staff were friendly and accommodating, though apart from one woman, no one speaks German or English, which can be bridged with gestures and was not an issue for us but might be important to know. There were three cute dogs, a really nice courtyard, and the food (daily breakfast and dinner on demand) was good. The kids were allowed to ride horses one day, which was great. Lieberec is quickly reachable and there are many lovely excursion spots. If you expect luxury, this isn’t the place for you; the rooms, especially the bathrooms, are very old and simply designed, and thus not exceptionally clean. There is no room service or similar, so we had to use the vacuum and other appliances ourselves. It’s not a big deal but worth knowing. The pool is a natural pool, which isn’t a problem but is also important information.

A great spot while traveling through the Jizera Mountains, hardworking and helpful owners, hatted beer and great lemonade, good dinners (amazing selection). A microwave and a kettle are available. There was very little fruit at breakfast and the coffee wasn’t very good. The accommodation was suitable for those who are not demanding, and that was enough for us.

From my point of view, breakfast was a bit weak. There was little fruit for me, but the lady was willing, and I was given more on request. I didn’t like the pastries much, but that’s a common issue for me elsewhere. I prefer when I can choose and fill my plate myself. I understand that given the price of the stay and the size of the pension, they have set it up this way; so under those circumstances, breakfast is OK.

The location is quiet, especially after the train (two lines behind the village). The place definitely has potential, but unfortunately we felt that the conversion to a pension was left halfway. The entrance hall looked very untidy, more like a private space than a guest accommodation. There was a lack of order and basic aesthetics. The common room for breakfast was nicely furnished in an old‑time style, but unfortunately the smell of the sewage and damp made the breakfast experience quite unpleasant. The room was spacious and suitable in size for four people for a short stay. Unfortunately the beds were very hard and creaked with every movement, which greatly affected sleep comfort. The bathroom would have been fine if the water worked properly – hot water flowed even in the toilet and the shower area couldn’t simply regulate temperature, which was dangerous and threatened burns. One had to figure it out. We’re glad we tried a stay in truly modest conditions, but next time we’ll choose different accommodation. Unfortunately we would not recommend this place.
