Good value for money. The rooms are basic, as the property is an old Italian house, but they’re very clean, comfortable, have AC, and a good shower. The host is extremely friendly and offers water and snacks all day as a courtesy, refusing to charge for them. The house is within walking distance of the train station and, for walkers, also of the historic city centre, but the climb is steep and the summer heat makes a car preferable; taxis are scarce. The host was so kind he drove me around when I needed it, such as to a car‑rental a few villages down the road. Truly impressive hospitality!
