Hotel Skalní Mlýn is situated in the Moravian Karst Nature Reserve next to a former water mill. The hotel offers en-suite rooms, regional cuisine, and a large summer terrace. Guests can enjoy fine Czech cuisine, a piano bar, and packed lunches. Nearby attractions include the Macocha Abyss, dripstone caves, and boat tours on the underground Punkva river, with family-friendly hiking trails nearby.

Great location. The food could use a bit of improvement; it was good but not outstanding.

The advantage was the nearby train that takes you to the gorge and Punkevní caves. You can walk there, but with small kids we appreciated the shuttle. Games and a small play area for children were available, and just outside the hotel a small but nice playground. Breakfast was buffet style and the time window for breakfast was more than sufficient. In the evening, when the restaurant closes, you essentially have no option for drinks. If you don't want to drink tap water, bring your own hydration.
