“Friendly staff and good basic amenities with a lovely courtyard.”
I was a bit worried seeing how close it was to a main road, but it turned out to be very quiet and peaceful. We received a message with clear instructions for our late check-in, along with a friendly welcome note upon arrival. Staff even checked in on us the following day to make sure we had everything we needed—excellent communication throughout!. If you are looking for upmarket accommodation, this isn't the place. While clean and tidy, there is some obvious wear and tear, though everything functions fine. Additionally, the shower has a high step to get into, which could be an issue for guests with limited mobility

The staff were clean and professional, but the shower lacked a hot/cold sign, so I spent a long time guessing which tap to use; a small improvement would help.
There was nothing positive; the hotel was false advertising, with breakfast served in the room at an extra cost that was not disclosed, so I wouldn't have booked if I had known. The bed sheets were missing, the toilet paper holder was broken, the room wasn’t cleaned properly, a white tail crawled out from under the dining table cloth during dinner, and when you close the toilet door the ceiling moves—overall I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and should have taken more photos.
The motel feels a bit dated compared with others, but the wooden charm and its central location are nice, although it sits right next to the great south road.
