“Nie wieder in dieses Hotel Relais des Alpes”
We were moved at the last minute from Hotel Avalanche to Relais des Alpes of the same chain. This review applies to the latter. The place was just old, noisy, full of schoolchildren, the breakfast buffet was stale, the bathroom needed renovation, and the service was poor.
The building is truly beautiful, the room was clean, and the staff were helpful. The only downside is that the music volume after a certain hour (midnight) should be lowered to respect guests.
“Hotel di charme con ottima posizione, ma con dettagli da rivedere”
We stayed in August at Hotel Avalanche, a very nice place with a refined alpine style. Its central location lets you reach the town centre in a few minutes on foot, and the hotel also boasts a lovely outdoor garden‑bistro, elegant and perfect for an aperitif or a meal. We booked a superior double room: spacious and fully furnished in wood. However, the overall experience was marred by some organisational flaws and a customer service that did not live up to a hotel of this calibre. Positives: Location and style – ideal for those seeking a charming destination a few steps from the centre. Rooms – spacious, welcoming, with a typical alpine feel. Breakfast – very good, though the fresh fruit selection could improve. Bike services – the hotel has a bike room for storing bicycles. Negatives: Reception staff were cold and rude, with no “good morning” at arrival, only a terse “the room will be ready at 3 pm,” and when we pointed out a room issue they handled it only adequately. In‑room comfort – the TV on the side wall of the bed made viewing uncomfortable; an extendable mount that could rotate the screen 90° toward the bed would help. Privacy and safety – the window of our superior room faced a passing courtyard, not fenced off from tourist traffic. Consequently, we found children playing and climbing the walls right outside our window, raising clear privacy and safety concerns. Logistics and parking – the lack of a loading‑unloading zone made arriving with luggage and bicycles very inconvenient. Moreover, the lockers for e‑bikes in the bike room are inexplicably available only in winter. Overall, the property has great potential, but a hotel of this level should pay more attention to details, cyclist services, and, above all, a warm and friendly welcome.
“Très bien”
Everything was perfect, nothing to complain about.
“Excellent séjour dans un bel Etablissement, avec du personnel au top.”
The rooms and equipment are modern with tasteful décor, and the value for money is exceptional. The only drawbacks are the lack of private parking and the absence of pastries, savory items (omelette, ham, cheese), and yogurts at breakfast.
