“Expensive holiday spoiled.”

We were excited to stay right beside the sea and even brought our dog along. The view was stunning, but the caravan itself left a lot to be desired: the carpet was dirty and hadn’t been vacuumed, the shower was scaldingly hot and we had to wait two days for it to be fixed, and there were no safety instructions or fire extinguisher guides anywhere. The kitchen window was broken, the extractor fan lacked a filter and was greasy, the net curtains were holed and unwashed, the wooden steps leading up to the caravan were rotten and unsafe, and the veranda and handrail were also rotting. A hole next to the gas fire was hidden under a chopping board, and the outside of the caravan needed repairs and a thorough cleaning. The surrounding area was littered with glass and debris, the sofa unit was dirty, unfinished woodwork was visible at the back, the smoke alarm didn’t work, and the shower’s extractor fan was also non‑functional. What was meant to be a special seaside holiday for my partner and me turned into an expensive disappointment, so much so that we considered asking for a refund and left a message for the owner.

“It was ok for a last minute break, improvements can be made”

The location was convenient and the beds were comfortable, but the sofa was filthy and needed a deep clean, the kitchen cupboards were sticky and required a thorough wash, and the shower water was scorching hot, so a warning sticker would have helped.

The location was good, but the host didn’t provide cleaning items such as shower gel, shampoo, kitchen soap, or a sponge. We knew from the start that they weren’t supplied, but it would have been nice to have them. Overall, it was a good experience.

The location is great, booking was easy, and the staff were very helpful over the phone. However, as a holiday home it fell short of expectations: the static caravan urgently needs a deep clean, the outside cleaners seem to just wipe down surfaces, mirrors have greasy finger marks, cutlery isn’t cleaned properly (often just rinsed under the tap, leaving grease), and there are no cleaning supplies for guests. The worst part in 2026 is the lack of a freezer, even inside the fridge.
