“Convenient, friendly and good value”

The room was perfectly adequate and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The evening meals were good, and both the room and food prices offered good value. Free parking was appreciated, and nearby bus stops let us go into town without hunting for expensive parking. The shower was over a bath with very high sides, making it difficult for an elderly person to get in and out, so it’s unsuitable for those with limited mobility. There was no lift and our room was on the first floor, requiring us to climb 17 stairs with our cases; a young lady from reception helped after a flat‑battery lock issue. Accessible rooms are available but were not available for us. Breakfast was somewhat disorganized, and food quality varied from morning to morning.

It’s a nice, inexpensive hotel not too far from Whitby’s centre. The place is clean and the staff are great; we visit every year for a friend’s birthday and never go anywhere else. The accommodation is quiet and comfortable. The only issue was my right‑side osteoarthritis, which made it hard to get in and out of the bath for a shower, so I might need an easily accessible room next time.

“Excellent hotel with friendly helpful staff”

This lovely hotel caught my eye; I didn’t eat at the restaurant but it looked good. I’d stay longer if it were cheaper, but it’s perfect for a quick overnight stop. It’s very wheelchair friendly.

The hotel sits in a great spot and the facilities are excellent, plus there's car parking. The rooms look a bit tired but they’re still comfortable.
