The location was great, away from the noise and close enough to the center. The first night we slept in a very basic room with a tin roof that the monkeys jump on in the morning and make a terrible noise. The next day we added some money and moved to a huge room on the second floor and it was wonderful. A large room with a balcony, beautifully decorated and clean. The staff is very nice. You need to pay attention to the water pressure in the shower

The location is really nice and the travel distance to major tourist spots isn’t that far. The whole property looks great, and the room called Bhagirathi was far better than we expected for this price range. The view from the bed is awesome. The room is premium, especially the bathroom. Anshul the manager is great, helped us with travel and everything. The cafe gossip has a really extensive menu, and the food quality is really Indian and Chinese, and Sanjay the cafe service guy was really great. Will definitely stay here again.

The spot works well enough, not too far from everything. But the room was moldy, the bathroom had rotting woodwork, and the bunk beds in the family room had no ventilation. Ants were present and never dealt with. The breakfast that came with the stay didn’t include eggs at all—just plain basic eggs—so we had to pay extra for them.

Julley Commune was fantastic from the moment I got there. My bus was delayed, yet I still managed to check in after 2 am thanks to the welcoming receptionists who were friendly, considerate, and helpful all the time. The room was spotless and the whole place was well maintained. Sitting on the hill just before the center of Tapovan kept the nights quiet. I’ll definitely return.

The hospitality and café were great, and the location was convenient with excellent service. The downside was the narrow road that connects to the main road—just a 100‑meter stretch.
